A couple of decades past, there lived a legendary? Play-write, actor, Songster and multi-talented Cultural Ambassador that beleaguered the Yoruba race with morally rich and educative Stage drama, Cinema and thought provoking music as well. Paramount amongst his numerous message to the Yoruba race was to wear their "Thinking Cap" (Yoruba Ro'nu).

Literally, "Yoruba Ro'nu is a clarion call on whichever Yoruba man/woman having attained the maturity age, to channel his/her life into inculcating the uncommon virtue deep thinking.

By this call to reasoning, Hubert Ogunde as he was famously known, was invoking the mentality of the average Yoruba man that appears, ordinarily to have been beclouded with irrelevancies, worldly pleasure at the expense of absolute loss of integrity and identity.

In his lyrics,Ogunde was very emphatic on Yoruba man's insecurity to one another even to his kith and kin, this brings me to the on-going sensational saga involving Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the clique of shameless dissidents.

Pardon my strong language but how else can I describe people that rose to prominence, by God's divine grace to use your ticket, started to wine and dine with you, only to turn around, stab you in the back, all for selfish reasons. More annoying it is that this clique have been chosen to trail this path in the very glare of Bola Tinubu.

I must be quick to enticing that I do not "Hero-worship" Asiwaju Tinubu, neither would I do same to any human. I will also confess that I am a card carrying member of the APC like a host of the others who form the nucleus of the said "Clique". 

That not-withstanding, there is no gain saying the obvious fact that we all became bequest of the brainchild of this Political Icon of our era. Betrayal is a fundamental phenomenon right from Biblical days when Judas betrayed Jesus.

 It is therefore not surprising, rather, abysmal for the Clique of South Western Flag Bearers who were most trusted as co-Pilots in the same Ship to connive and "Bite the fingers that once fed them"' in the erroneous belief that they are now"made" and are affluent enough to call the shots in the Political terrain. That may however be far from the truth because it is no overstatement that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a Political juggernaut and his achievement on the terrain is not a day's job. Needless to say that the Political Enigma has paid his dues over time while records show that he always carried people along on his strides to political eminence.

That seeming "weakness" of sharing his benefits and carrying others along is now being unjustly translated into being his "mistake" as the very trusted allies now gang-up against him all for selfish interest.

It is a known fact that AD, AC, ACN and indeed APC were Asiwaju's brainchild at one time or the other consequent upon which he invited his "Political friends-turned foes" on board.

Tinubu more or less single handedly decided the fate of John Oyegun, Fayemi, Fashola, Mamora and a host of others in their Political exploits, likewise the choice of Buhari was the outcome of his "maverick" moves only for their backs to be turned against him and those loyal to him, mid-stream on the journey.

Tinubu's leadership qualities earned him the accolades "Asiwaju" translates to being "Leader".

He has led the political marksmanship yielded the NADECO, AD, ACN, even the APC. Tinubu in his time ensured that the Democratic Party achieved the unique feat of winning the seat of the central Government.

Rather than antagonize this Political hero of our time out of mere resentment, he should be heralded, celebrated and encouraged.

But then, let all detractors in the Political silver screen not rejoice yet because the last chapter is not yet written. The Jagaban Borgu is a master in the game of Politics and surely rattle and shame his detractors.
