Onozasi : Share your background with us

Bisbam : I am Mrs. ABISOLA OMOLOLA BAMIDELE. I hail from Epe in Lagos state. I am in my mid-forties. I attended Epe girls high school and I studied economics at Ondo state university Akungba. I went into business quite early in life and that’s because growing up, I wanted to be an entrepreneur.

Onozasi : How would you define your business journey so far?

Bisbam : The journey so far has been awesome due to the fact that I was in the event industry before.
I started Aso-oke business, so, getting the design and creating them was not a problem as I already knew what was in vogue at one time or the other.

Onozasi : What inspires you and why?

Bisbam : Over the years, I developed a passion for fashion which created the seed of creativity in me.
I strongly believed it was the field I could be successful in, and so when I left teaching, I dived into it because I saw opportunities and prospect in it.

Onozasi : The fashion industry is crowded, how do you set a niche for yourself?

Bisbam : By the knowing the right thing to do, doing it and getting it right. to me, every client is important and to satisfy them, no stone must be left unturned. All my employees know that I have zero tolerance for sloppiness and excuses.

Onozasi : How do you manage series of demand?

Bisbam : I have weavers that are diligent, I treat them well and stand on my quality. so, when we have urgent demand they are always on their toes working day and night. also, in my office, I have rooms for staffs so those in sewing and beading section sleepover during such period to workover night.

Onozasi : Why did you choose Aso Oke Business?

Bisbam : Don’t forget the fact I am an alaga iduro/ijoko (those that compere in traditional weddings).
Most times when I coordinate traditional weddings I see couples who are not dressing in a proper way that suites that suite the Yoruba tradition. mostly due to the fact that there is no one to put them on the right track. so, I decided to go into aso-oke to assist couples and their families in choosing what is appropriate for their joyous day.

Onozasi : What the three things you would advise intending couples to get on their wedding list?

Bisbam : Good food and drinks, a professional makeup artist and a photographer.

Onozasi : Who are your role models?

Bisbam : BISBOD ASO- OKE AND BIMMS, I love and cherish their quality.

Onozasi : Your advice to young entrepreneurs

Bisbam :  Be diligent, self-motivated, have maintenance plan, don’t cheat clients and trust God for greater height.

Onozasi : Share your breakthroughs with us

Bisbam : One of my breakthroughs is the location of my office, it is at Ojota, easy to access and well equipped. so, getting job done easily and prompt delivery is not a problem to us.

Onozasi : How do you manage business downturn?

Bisbam : We have never experienced one since the inception of the business. TO THE GLORY OF GOD,NO BETTER YESTERDAY.

They told us that we have Oil and we still suffer for what we have, are you sure those that discovered these things discovered well? I am sick and tired of speculations if we sincerely have, how come we suffer so much to own what we have? Who else is in ...
