                       WhO's oN tHe SpOt?

Hello people. We are here to drink some coffee and guess who is drinking with us?

Miss Beauty Onuoha Aka Switly. The CEO of SwitlySignature. A food Instructor,ingredients technologist extraordinaire. Enjoy the ride.

Onozasie :  Let's know a little about you.

Miss Beauty Onuoha {Switly}

Switly: Beauty is an Igbo girl (from Abia State) born, bred and “buttered” in Lagos. She had her primary and secondary education in Lagos, and tertiary in Ibadan, Nigeria. So, she likes to think she’s a “Southern-Igbo Gal”. The last child of 8 children, Beauty is a staunch believer of Christ.

Onozasie : When did you realise that you would be an entrepreneur?

Switly : I realized I wanted to be an entrepreneur during my service year (2015/2016). I hated the idea of business,because I thought it was all about buying and selling, which I totally loathed. But when I discovered that business also entailed production and manufacturing, I thought it was cool. I’ve always loved to use my hands to make stuff, whether food or art.
Onozasie :  What motivates you?

Switly : The desire to add value to people motivates me. It’s all about value. One might ask, “So how is your food business adding value?” Well, the day I ran into a customer at the mall, complaining bitterly about not seeing me around her office, I realized I was doing something worthwhile. She said “Beauty, we have been hungry o. No fruits, no smoothie.” I apologized and promised to come around. When people begin to look for you, or miss what you offer them, then you’re adding value – and that’s what I’m about.
Also, the fact that my business supports people living with sickle cell (Life to sickle Cell) is another added value. So adding value motivates me. It makes me want to give more, add something extra..you know?! That’s why our motto is “…a little extra to the ordinary” *winks*

Onozasie : Have you ever thought of quitting?

Switly : Are you kidding me? Yes! Lol. I don’t think there’s any entrepreneur who would say that they’d never thought of quitting. But then, it was a thought - a thought that fizzled out when I remembered why I started in the first place.

Onozasie :  Why did you choose food business?

Switly : Because I love FOOD! I love food. I love the process of making food. I love spices. I love the aroma of good food. I love tasty food. Cooking is something that came naturally to me. I didn’t go to a culinary school. Not at all. I simply looked at what aunties around me did, noted tastes of certain foods and spices and that was it. Then I had to develop the talent, of course by reading and following fellow foodies. Another reason is food business will always thrive, as long as you know what you’re doing. People have to eat. There will always be market. It’s a lucrative one. *winks again*
Onozasie : What inspires you and why?

Switly : Love inspires me. When you love, you serve – you serve diligently, with all you have and can. You don’t do things perfunctory.

Onozasie : What has been the lowest and highest points for you in business?

Switly : Hmm.. “highest” and “lowest”. I think these terms are relative. But in terms of profit, so far, I would say catering for a consulting firm. Lowest point..hmm.. I’m not proud of it. Hey, don’t think too far. Someone wanted me to do something which was unethical. Let me end here. *laughs*
Onozasie : Looking back now, what are those things you wouldn't advise upcoming entrepreneurs to take to heart. { The Spot Word}

Switly : Dear budding entrepreneurs, don't take rejection or disappointment to heart. If you do, you will never get to where you should be. Not everyone is your customer, so don't feel bad when someone rejects your offer.

Onozasie : Can we connect with you?

Switly : These are my handles.

   Monday Blues....         Letter to the Man in charge Excuse me sir,  I hope your day is going on well even though mine isn't and the reason? I will certainly share with you. Let me ask you some questions, I don't need to be all care and friendly because this is a serious matter at hand. Do you drive? Does your car run on water or on Fuel? Please I need sincere answers sir!. It's pathetic that I have to stay on an unending queue to get fuel to run my car knowing that we have no special reserves to take us out on monday. Maybe car makers should start making three to four fuel tanks for some cars coming to some countries e.g Nigeria. I am so fed up of the way things are done in this country. They told us that we have Oil and we still suffer for what we have, are you sure those that discovered these things discovered well? I am sick and tired of speculations if we sincerely have, how come we suffer so much to own what we have? Who else is in ...
